What is the Explosion of Excellence?

How are the top seniors honored?

The George County Explosion of Excellence is a scholarship program sponsored by George County Chamber of Commerce and managed by George County Chamber Foundation. The program is designed to encourage and recognize the Top 20 graduating high school seniors of their class. Explosion of Excellence is a great way for our community to encourage academic success of our local students pursuing higher education at any community college or four-year university.

An honors and recognition program will be held in May for students, their families and a special teacher. During the ceremonies, each student is recognized and scholarships are awarded to each student. The amount of the scholarship awarded to each student is dependent upon the amount raised in the scholarship fund for the year. This scholarship program is really an investment in our local community and its future leaders and business owners.

How can you help honor our top students?

You or your business can help honor our top achieving students by making a tax exempt contribution to the Explosion of Excellence Scholarship Fund. As college tuition costs continue to rise each year, every scholarship goes a long way to helping the students. Please show your support and appreciation to these young students who are the future of our community.

The GC Chamber of Commerce has been the primary organizer of this scholarship program for 22 years, and proud to assist our local students in their pursuits.

All donations are tax deductible as a charitable contribution to the George County Chamber Foundation.
