Leadership George County Committee 

Leadership George County is a valued offering of the George County Chamber of Commerce.  This class represents the third group of graduates.  The goal of the program is to develop and cultivate emerging leaders who dedicate themselves to the advancement of George County and its citizens.  The program is also designed to educate participants on George County/Lucedale’s diverse economy and needs.

What is Leadership George County?

Mission Statement: 

Leadership George County is a leadership development program sponsored by the George County Chamber of Commerce to identify and prepare the community’s future leadership resources. Upon completion, Leadership George County will have provided George County with a network of current and emerging leaders who possess the skills and sense of commitment in order to make a positive impact on our community.

Leadership George County is looking to develop long-term, focused, diverse community leaders who understand the issues of today and plan for the future.

Why do we need Leadership George County? 

Chamber of Commerce encourages businesses and individuals to become involved in the program in order to learn more about our community, develop their leadership skills and being a part of a group that wants to make a positive difference in George County.

What is included in the Program?

The class will be made up of no more than 15 to 20 men and women representing a diverse cross section of George County. All interested participants between the ages of 25 and 65 who live and/or work in George County are eligible to apply. Nominations and applications are accepted throughout the year, however, the program year starts in September.  Monthly sessions are scheduled on the 2nd Thursday of each month in various locations throughout George County and a session at our State Capitol in Jackson. Session will include a variety of topics created by the Leadership George County Steering Committee.
