Operation GC Christmas

Operation GC Christmas is a Christmas Program managed by the George County Chamber Foundation, a nonprofit organization of George County Chamber of Commerce. We will help provide Christmas gifts and needs for George County Middle School and High School this year. Once we receive the information for each student at the Middle School and High School, we will be using the funds and donations from the donors in our community for each student to receive a rolling duffel bag full of personal toiletry items, warm hoodies and winter accessories.

Operation GC Christmas aims to give students in need, attending Middle School and High School, a Christmas they may not have otherwise. We have found that a number of these students that we received information on are actually homeless, so this will indeed be of great use to them. Tax-deductible donations are designed to make the season brighter for both the gift giver and receiver.

If you or your group (organization, club, church, business) would like to make a donation to support this year’s Operation GC Christmas, please contact the George County Chamber of Commerce Office at 601-947-2755, P. O. Box 441, Lucedale, MS 39452 or email office@georgecountychamber.org. Checks can be made payable to Operation GC Christmas/George County Chamber Foundation.

Some of these students’ families do not even have enough to pay their rent, power bill, or anything like that. Christmas is the furthest thing from their minds. We want to make sure Christmas is a happy time for some of the most vulnerable students in our county, which makes this such a very important time for us.

COVID, unemployment or parents fighting for weekly checks will not put Christmas on hold. Even older students still wish for Santa to bring them presents at Christmastime. So, when mom, dad, or grandparents have trouble making that happen, Operation GC Christmas is there to help.

Please join our effort to make this happen for these students.
